Weekly, Biweekly or Monthly: What Each Really Costs

Recurring cleaning is discounted because a maintained house is faster to clean. But the per-visit discount is the number people compare, and it is the wrong one.

Weekly costs roughly four times monthly. The 20% discount does not change that, and this is the comparison people skip.

Why the discounts differ

They are not arbitrary. They track how much work each frequency actually removes.

A house cleaned weekly never accumulates. The team maintains a known baseline and the visit is genuinely faster — hence the largest discount.

A house cleaned monthly has four weeks to drift. By visit day it is closer to needing a deep clean than a maintenance clean, so less time is saved and the discount is smaller.

Every two weeks sits in between, which is why it is the most common choice in this market. It is the point where the house never gets far enough out of hand to need recovering, without paying for four visits a month.

Choosing honestly

Weekly suits households where the house genuinely does not hold up for two weeks: young children, several pets, someone working from home full time, or a home that hosts often. Also worth it if the alternative is you cleaning on Saturdays and resenting it.

Every two weeks is the default for a reason. For most households — two adults, one or two kids, a dog — it holds. This is what we book most of.

Monthly works for smaller households, couples who are out most of the day, or homes that stay tidy naturally. Be realistic: if a month feels long by week three, you will get a maintenance clean at a maintenance price on a house that needed more.

The trap in monthly

The most common disappointment in recurring cleaning is monthly service on a house that needed biweekly.

The visit is priced and timed as maintenance. If the house has drifted a long way, the team either runs over — which flat rate means they absorb, but not indefinitely — or prioritises and something gets less attention.

If you are consistently unhappy with a monthly clean, the frequency is usually the problem, not the crew.

The first visit sits outside this

Whichever frequency you choose, visit one is priced at the one-time rate, because it is a deep clean. You move to the recurring rate from visit two.

Both numbers should be quoted before you book. If a company shows you only the recurring rate and mentions the first-visit price afterwards, that is the thing to watch for.

Skipping visits

Life happens. What matters is what your company’s policy is:

• Skipping occasionally should not cost you the recurring rate
• Skipping repeatedly means the house drifts back toward needing a deep clean, and at some point the recurring rate stops reflecting the work
• Cancelling with reasonable notice should carry no fee on recurring service
